Where we get our Honey
Our delicious honey is from Utah bee keepers within the Salt Lake area/ Wasatch Range. The honey is not filtered nor heated.
Why is Raw Honey Better for you?
The most significant reason raw honey is nutritionally superior than processed honey is due to it's preserved beneficial properties. During pasteurization and filtration, raw honey's beneficial enzymes are destroyed; the pollen and propolis are also lost during the process. Pollen has been shown to aid in immunity and help improve seasonal allergies. Bee pollen is also a source of proteins, vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, beneficial fatty acids, carotenoids and bioflavonoids which have been shown to have positive effects on cardiovascular health. Propolis has been studied for it's numerous health benefits including it's antiseptic, antiviral, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties. It has also been studied in treating certain cancers. When honey is processed, it is heated and filtered which gets rid of many of these beneficial properties. Processing honey also destroys many naturally occurring enzymes which aid in digestion. This suggests that raw honey is better tolerated and digested easier than processed honey.
